Cleveland Orchestra to accompany Joffrey Ballet at Blossom Music Center
By Zachary Lewis
As live accompaniment for dance goes,
Chicago-based Joffrey Ballet couldn't ask for better than the Cleveland
Orchestra.
Assistant conductor Tito Muñoz presides
over the event, the first of its kind at Blossom Music Center since the
1988 season. Joffrey itself last visited Blossom in 1979.
Between the four works on the program,
Muñoz and the orchestra will have their hands full surveying a broad
range of music including works by Henry Cowell, Aram Khachaturian,
Johann Strauss and Malloy Miller, as well as Baroque figures Arcangelo
Corelli and Johann Mayer.
Last but not least, they'll perform music
from the classic Richard Rodgers score to "Carousel."
